Rev/Bill Categories
To set up your Billing Categories, go to Categories under Company Maintenance. The system provides several default Billing Categories, and you may add or subtract from that list as desired. The Revenue categories are already defined by the system and are not added or displayed here.
- Enter the Category Name and Description. The description appears on the billing statements.
- The Billing Sequence number is where you set the order of the categories on the statement. For example, equipment is sequence 5, so equipment will be the 5th category listed on the statement.
- The Default Account for Owners Share is the account where you want to post the owners' share of the billings. The Investor Entry screen uses it as your default account.
-
Expense Category - Select which item the category is. If the Operating Category Name is selected, it will be included in the Operating Expense column on the Cash Flow by Owner Report. If any Other Category Name is selected, it will display in the Other Expense column labeled by the Category on the Cash Flow by Owner Report.
