Price Differential Scale
Overview
Pak Accounting now has a Price Differential scale that allows for a variable deduction on a contract based on a combination of Gravity and Mileage. This is used in combination with Price Base Codes.
Setup
Company Maintenance
Under the Company > First Purchaser > Advanced tab, there is a company option to Enable Price Differential Scale. Check this box to enable the option.
NOTE: If you are using price-based codes, the pricing at the Property Level should already be checked. If it’s not already checked, it will need to be.
Scales and Rates
Once that is turned on, a new menu item called Price Differential Scale Maintenance will appear under Sales and Rate Maintenance.
Multiple rate codes can be set up according to the Mileage/Gravity combinations.
Price Contract
The Rate Code(s) are then attached to the Price Contract(s) under the Pricing tab, Price Differential Scale Code column.
Process
When entering the Run Ticket, the contract will pick up the appropriate scale based on Mileage and API Gravity. In this example, the API Gravity is 37.6, between our settings of 25 and 49.99; our Miles are over 10 but less than 15.
Other
You can test your Price Differential as you set it up to ensure that it is set up correctly.
Once tickets have been entered, go to the Property Maintenance > Price Contract tab and use the Price Test button in the bottom-left corner of the screen to see the values.
Reports
Reports > Pricing/Payment tab > P-10 Price Components Detail. This exports real-time details of the pricing components on the run tickets.
